Robberg Sunsetby ~samboardman

Sunset taken from within the Robberg Nature Reserve look out over the sea, away from the town. I like this picture for the sun, the clouds, the sea and the memory of being there.

The Robberg, at one end of Plettenberg Bay, is a long thin rocky peninsula that juts out into the sea several kilometres.

I really like the layers to this picture. The clouds above have such a great texture with the sun skimming their tops, and then the horizon line has the longer, smoother clouds and such a nice haze to it. Then the silhouette of the cliff side with the dark ocean below (which seems to have some splashes of pinkish warmth in it). Its really just a very lovely picture.

I took this 2 years ago and only 'found' it a few weeks back in my collection. It's one of those pictures that on the 3" camera lcd doesnt look that special but when you get it up on a nice size you can really see the different shades of colour, the misty haze, etc
